Valor was a sponsor at the Boys & Girls Club Youth Gala and Auction at the Talking Stick Resort. Valor is an avid supporter and sponsor of the Boys & Girls Clubs. My wife, Vicki and I are strong advocates of supporting and mentoring today’s youth. It is critical for our community that all children develop a positive self-identity and life-enhancing skills to help them become productive future citizens. I know first-hand how influential these programs are because Vicki was a member of the Boys & Girls Club as a youth and was selected as a Youth of the Year for the Sedona club.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation and speeches of the nine candidates vying for the honor of the 2011 Youth of the Year. The Boys & Girls Clubs of America “Youth of the Year” program is a premier character and leadership initiative which has been in existence for over 60 years. Recipients of the award are determined by candidates’ demonstration of service to the Club, community and family, academic performance, moral character, life goals, leadership, poise and public speaking ability. Youth of the Year is the highest honor given to members of the organization. www.celebrateyouthgala.org
