Melissa is Valor Global’s Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for guiding all Mayo Global portfolio companies in areas of strategic brand building and marketing execution. Melissa brings over 20 years of expertise in customer research, brand and marketing strategy, product development, creative development and public relations, with a proven track record of building and running top-performing teams and achieving measurable results. 

Prior to joining Valor, Melissa was with Outlier, a conglomerate with companies across multiple industries and over $1B in revenue. As Chief Marketing Officer, Melissa led brand development and and strategic marketing execution for Outlier’s family of brands.  Prior to Outlier, Melissa was Executive Vice President of Brand Marketing for Sittercity, a nationwide online child care service connecting families with high quality caregivers with over 8M members. At Sittercity, she was responsible for the organization’s strategic planning, brand building, marketing and web and mobile product development. She also led the creation of YearsAhead.com, Sittercity’s senior care offering, from conception to launch, managing the P&L through its acquisition by a strategic partner in 2013. Preceding Sittercity, Melissa led the marketing team for Cold Stone Creamery , an international retail ice cream concept. During her tenure, she was responsible for all aspect of strategic marketing from brand management to creative services. She also established and led the product development team, overseeing all elements of the product lifecycle including R&D, positioning and evolution of all product lines. 

Melissa received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Richmond and a MBA in Marketing from Arizona State University. She is an avid runner, novice artist and holds the patent for “ice cream and cake dessert” from her first product launch at Cold Stone Creamery. She resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her amazing husband, two spirited children and geriatric-yet-still-sprite puggle.
